On October 9, Gonzalo Blanca of ESCI-UPF will present the article “LIFE Zero Cabin Waste Project: Management of aviation waste. Environmental impacts from the perspective of the LCA “within the framework of the Recuwaste 2018 conference at the Tecnocampus in Mataró in Barcelona.

Recuwaste 2018 is held over two days, on October 8 and 9, under the theme “Transforming proximity to change globality” and will feature presentations on experiences in waste management at an international level, workshops, environmental cinema of the International Festival of Environment Film, as well as an exhibition of innovative machinery.

In addition, during the month of August, a deadline of “call for papers” was opened and LIFE Zero Cabin Waste article was one of the three articles selected to be presented orally on Tuesday, October 9, from 11:15 am to 12:00 a.m., within “Papers Recuwaste”. In this way, Gonzalo Blanca will explain to the attendees the impact in terms of greenhouse gases of the current management of catering waste, prior to the implementation of selective collection. The impact has been measured by LCA methodology and the presentation will focus on the stages with the greatest impact, which should be corrected.
